We’re thrilled to welcome you to our newly launched website! It has taken lots of teamwork and months in the making. HIRD Rail Services (HRS) have been going through some structural changes too, and we’re excited to share them with you.
HRS is now part of The HIRD Group – nothing has changed, other than we can now also be accessed from the newly created HIRD Group website.
The HIRD Group was formed after a decision was made to coalesce all four of the HIRD companies to create a sense of unity throughout. The HIRD Group is now the go-to place for all infrastructure needs. Alongside HIRD Rail Services (HRS) are HIRD Rail Development (HRD), HIRD Rail Development BV (HBV), and Trough-Tec Systems (TTS). All of these companies provide bespoke services to the UK rail industry and are leaders in their field, thanks to their years of experience and unequalled solutions. By bringing the four companies together, The HIRD Group will be the one-stop hub for clients, providing access to all the high-quality services it provides.
What is HRS?
At HRS we’re proud to be a leading supplier of specialist track-related products to the UK rail industry, including IBJs, heritage rail supplies, and network-approved new rails. Alongside this, we have a fully equipped and highly skilled team who can support a range of rail processing services from rail twisting, curving, and Cold Bolt Hole Expansion (CBX). Designed with sustainability at the core, these services will boost reliability and safety on the tracks for both consumer and freight. Our long-standing history and dependable offering has earned us a reputation as an innovative provider of industry-leading infrastructure solutions.

The climate crisis is incredibly important to us and sustainability plays an inherent role at HRS, which is why we are constantly re-examining and refreshing initiatives to be greener. You can find out more about that here.
HRS enforces a holistic approach when it comes to sustainability. Founder of The HIRD Group Michael Hird leads our environmental efforts, starting with educating and providing opportunities for younger people and employees at HRS. By providing staff with extensive training, they can be empowered to make environmentally conscious decisions independently, through their work and personal lives. These efforts then extend beyond the company to the sponsorship of key climate events, like COP26, understanding fully our supply chain and identifying where we can cut back on waste and emissions. Shaped by our ethos, HRS has been sustainable since the beginning and we continue to ensure this approach is permeated throughout the business.
